Fix Your Broken Global Agenda Install

by Gavin on July 16, 2011

So you download and install Global Agenda, update and patch, and get cryptic messages for missing .dll files like d3dx10_39.dll or random PhysX files you didn’t think you’d need for your ATI graphics card?  Here’s the fix:

Step 1:

Open the launcher and click the poorly-labeled options tab in the upper left-hand corner.

agendamainmenu

Step 2:

Click on the “Rerun Pre-Requisites” button, which will, at least on a Windows 7 64 bit machine, run them for the first time:

runprereqs

Once you re-run (that means run for the first time) the check for prerequisites, it’ll install all the necessary files and libraries to actually run Global Agenda without error messages.

Well, actually, they’ve changed the launcher UI. You have to now go through Steam.

“For Steam:
– Start Steam.
– Navigate to the Library>>Games tab.
– Right-Click the appropriate version (Live / Public Test) and select Properties.
– Navigate to the Local Files tab.
– Click “VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE…”
– Wait until the process is finished.
– Restart Steam, and run the game.”

Worked for me.

If they’ve since switched to Steam for all their client updates, then this post has outlived its usefulness. Glad it was a help to people in the interim.
